Two batteries for different scenarios
On September 1, Renault announced an update to the Scenic E-Tech electric. The version with an 89 kWh NMC battery gets a claimed range of up to 642 km under WLTP and a 15–80% charge in 28 minutes under appropriate conditions.
A 67 kWh LFP battery is due to be added later in autumn 2026: up to 467 km WLTP and 24 minutes for the 15-80% interval. The program also mentions Google Gemini, Qi2 wireless charging, new interior colors and materials.
Why are initial and final charge levels important?
Comparing the 15–80% time with another car’s 10–80% without correction is wrong: the amount of energy is different. The capacity and type of battery also affect the usage scenario. The WLTP maximum range is a laboratory guideline, not a promise of the same range in winter and summer.
How not to confuse the updated version
Before buying a Scenic, check the year of manufacture, battery capacity and exact trim code. The E-Tech name is retained between updates, so a body photo does not reveal all the differences. For a used car, check the charging system, remaining battery condition and repair history. Local price and availability should be checked for the country of purchase.
