Award for a new electric van
On September 15, Renault announced that the Trafic Van E-Tech electric was named International Van of the Year 2027. The ceremony took place on September 14 during the IAA Transportation in Hanover. According to the manufacturer, the decision of the jury of 26 journalists from 26 European countries was unanimous.
This is the sixth such award for a Renault commercial vehicle. The new Trafic is designed and manufactured in Sandouville, France, and features a software-controlled architecture and an 800-volt electrical system.
Characteristics that are still being specified
Renault claims a range of up to 470 km, pending final approval. It also claims a turning circle of 10.3 meters. These figures refer to the new electric generation, not any aftermarket Trafic.
How to evaluate a van for work
The award is a reason to take a closer look at the model, but the working choice depends on the load, route and charging base. Specify the useful volume, permissible weight and availability of superstructures. Final specifications and delivery times are required before ordering. The archive photo of a regular Trafic in the material is an illustration of the model family, not a picture of the award winner.
