Another level in customer motorsport

On August 26, Porsche presented the 911 Challenge as the new entry model in its GT racing line. The car combines the technology of the current 911 GT3 with race-ready safety systems. It is scheduled to be eligible for a number of monocups from the 2027 season.

The main components include a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with up to 515 hp and a seven-speed PDK. Some components are close to the production ones, but the chassis and equipment are adapted for sports.

How is the Challenge different from the road-going GT3?

The similarity of technology should make it easier to get to know the car, not to turn the racing model into a regular road car. Porsche mentions adjustable ABS, traction control, a stabilization system and data collection tools. Technical documentation and spare parts support are also important parts of the offer.

Race car budget

When evaluating such a purchase, maintenance, tires, brakes, transportation, and participation in the series are added to the price of the car. It is necessary to check the sporting regulations and the approval of the specific version. If the goal is daily use, it is worth considering the road models separately and not assuming that the Challenge has the same registration options.
