Traffic situation warning

On August 26, Volvo Cars announced new Connected Safety features for the EX60, EX90 and ES90. Their purpose is to warn the driver in advance of potential dangers ahead, giving them more time to change speed or take other actions.

As part of the same software update, the EX90 and ES90 announced support for Spatial Audio in Apple CarPlay. This is a separate multimedia feature that should not be confused with active safety capabilities.

Connected features require availability verification

The car system may gain new capabilities over its lifetime. However, the name Connected Safety in the news does not confirm that every feature will be supported in all markets and versions. Appropriate software, configuration and available services are required.

What to do before upgrading or purchasing

Check the official software release notes and installation requirements for your specific vehicle. After purchasing a used Volvo, set up your owner profile and connection. Warnings are an aid to the driver: they are not a substitute for paying attention to the road and keeping your distance. The features announced for the EX60, EX90 and ES90 should not be automatically attributed to the XC40 shown in the illustration.
