A rare coupe from Affalterbach
On September 10, Mercedes-AMG presented the CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung, the second model in the Mythos collection. The series is limited to thirty cars, which, according to the manufacturer, were already sold before the premiere. The cars are manually rebuilt at the CLE 53 facility in Affalterbach.
The main differences are a 646 hp twin-turbo V8, rear-wheel drive, an extended body and a specially tuned chassis. The use of carbon fiber and aerodynamic components is associated with the task of increasing dynamic capabilities.
Mythos is not equal to the regular CLE configuration
This is a separate, small-scale project, not a standard package that can be added to any CLE. The manufacturer claims road homologation, but the specific operating conditions and registration depend on the vehicle's documents and the country.
What is important for a potential buyer
In the secondary market for such a model, proof of origin, factory documentation and ownership history will play a special role. The external conversion of a regular CLE does not make it part of the Mythos. For everyday purchases, it is advisable to compare the production versions of AMG separately in terms of condition, equipment and maintenance costs. The illustration of the EQE here shows the brand, not the special coupe.
