Familiar family update
On August 17, Mercedes-Benz presented a technical update to the C-Class in sedan and wagon bodies with internal combustion engines. The company emphasizes the development of electrified powertrains, assistance systems and a digital environment.
The program includes MB.OS with updates via the Internet, the AI-based MBUX Virtual Assistant and navigation solutions with Google Cloud technologies. For plug-in hybrid versions, an electric range of up to 100 km according to WLTP is claimed.
Which C-Class to compare?
The parallel existence of the electric C-Class and the updated line with internal combustion engines makes the model name insufficient for comparison. The type of power plant, body, year of manufacture and exact equipment are required. Up to 100 km is the maximum indicator of the corresponding PHEV version, and not a characteristic of each C-Class.
Selection checklist
Before ordering, check the list of digital features in the country of use, the availability of the necessary assistants and the terms of subscriptions. For a used plug-in hybrid, evaluate the battery and gasoline engine separately. The electric range in the laboratory cycle is not a substitute for evaluating the route, temperature and the possibility of regularly charging the car at home or at work.
