Noticeable and technical changes
On September 10, Volvo Cars introduced updates to the XC40, EX40 and EC40. The cabin features a larger 11.2-inch display with the latest Volvo interface and support for Google Gemini. New material options and wireless phone charging are also available.
Exterior changes include Thor’s Hammer Matrix LED headlights and revised front fascias. The XC40 and EX40 also get a revised rear end, while the EC40 retains its signature rear design.
Sensors as the basis of driver assistance
Volvo describes a new software and sensor platform: radars, cameras and twelve ultrasonic sensors. They support active safety and assistants. The presence of a new platform in the announcement does not mean that it can be installed as a regular software update on every older car.
How to compare versions in a catalog
Check the exact model year and powertrain: XC40, EX40 and EC40 have different configurations. During the post-repair inspection, pay attention to cameras, radars and calibration documents. Options and digital services depend on the country and subscription, so the final equipment list is more important than a general description of the updated family.
